My Yoga Philosophy
"Practicing yoga is like holding hands with a close friend as You walk the path of life & eventually coming home to Yourself after a long journey."
The word yoga is sanskrit & means "to unite". That is exactly what it does. It unites our physical body with our subtle body - our inner world, energy body & mind. But it unites more than that. It creates a sense of belonging & connects people with all kinds of ethnicities, backgrounds, identities, conditions & personalities. It connects the individual with the greater whole - with other people, animals & nature. And it builds on values such as trust, openness, gratitude, compassion, acceptance & mindfulness.
Yoga creates space for growth & living life to the fullest. It allows you to feel, explore & be in your body. It can increase your mobility, train your attention, strengthen your muscles & provide you with recovery & rest, to name just a few of its many benefits. At the same time, it does so much more than what is initially apparent. It peels away the exterior layers - the surface - & reveals the core of you - your true self. This is where your intuition, your gut feeling & your innate wisdom is found - You in your purest form. Yoga sets aside your ego, creating space for your soul. It enhances the image of yourself, increases your self-esteem & builds you up from within, if you allow it to. Gradually, yoga creates the conditions for you to unite with yourself as well as with those and that which is around you.
Yoga is a holistic life philosophy aimed at creating balance & self-awareness. It serves as an anchor, a safe place to return to. And it creates freedom, in body, mind & soul.
