My Teachings

Hatha yoga, Yoga nidra & Trauma informed yoga (TAY)

My teachings have developed out of the knowledge & experiences I have gained through many yoga teacher trainings, courses in an integrative & holistic approach to the biology of trauma, my personal journey in life & my interests, motivations & personality.

Hatha yoga, transformative yoga & yogic life philosophy serves as the foundation, complemented by yoga nidra. The practices & pedagogics are trauma-informed, & my teachings are tailored individually. I use evidence-based methods, focusing on nervous system regulation. Scientific research in fields such as neuroscience, yoga & the biology & psychology of trauma is an important part, as is a holistic & integrative approach.

My aim is to support you in improving your well-being & ability to handle life's challenges, both in the short & long term. I offer yoga & somatic practices as a toolbox full of tools that you can use throughout your entire life. From a broader perspective, my aim is to contribute to a better world. When you live life from a place of inner safety & well-being, you allow others to do the same. Together, we can make the world a better place.

I teach all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced, allowing you to make the practice your own. You are welcome exactly as you are! Together we will create a yoga practice that resonates with you.

Hatha yoga is a physical form of yoga. The practice involves asanas (physical exercises), pranayama (breathing exercises) & meditation. Many different styles of yoga have developed out of hatha yoga such as ashtanga yoga, yin yoga & restorative yoga. I teach hatha yoga in general & not in any specific form. I have developed my own style, seamlessly interweaving asanas, pranayama & meditation with music, poems, yoga philosophy, science & personal experiences into various themes. My classes are powerful yet gentle & slow-paced with plenty of space for both mental & physical rest as well as personal development.

Yoga nidra, also known as "yogic sleep", is a deeply restorative & meditative form of yoga. It is practiced in stillness, often lying down if that is comfortable for you. Blankets, bolsters, pillows & eye pillows are used to support the body into full relaxation. The practice aims to take you to a state of consciousness between waking & sleeping through various techniques with different purposes. This is an invaluable tool for recovery that can be used at any time during day or night, regardless of where you are, as you can listen online. All you need is your mobile phone & a pair of headphones.

Trauma informed yoga (TAY) is a form of yoga based on trauma research, evidence-based yoga therapy & body-based methods. It has been developed in collaboration with leading researchers & experts in body-based methods to support psychological trauma & common comorbidities such as PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, burnout, addiction, eating disorders, bipolar disorder & schizophrenia. TAY consists of gentle exercises for self-regulation of symptoms & reactions that are common in various conditions. TAY is intended as complementary support to conventional healthcare interventions & is well-suited as support within psychiatry. In Sweden, TAY is used in forensic psychiatry, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service & Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) among other places. You can read more about TAY here.
